Individual tax returns are due by April 15th

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions concerning corporate tax returns and your obligations.

Whether you HAVE to file an individual tax return depends upon the following (but you may WANT to file even if not required):

– Filing status (are you single, married, married-filing-separately, or head-of-household)
– Age
– How much income you made

See the following chart–

[table id=7 /]

Please know situations vary if you’re self-employed, or if you can be claimed as a dependent (such as by your parent). Contact E. Daniel Miller, CPA, PC at (888) 734-3933 or tax@edanielmillercpa.com concerning your specific circumstances.  We answer most questions free of charge (feel free to call or email), and of course we also provide a free initial consultation.

But just because you don’t have to file a tax return doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. Even if you do not meet one of the above requirements, you may have had federal or state taxes withheld from your wages, and you will need to file a tax return to receive a refund. But also, even without federal and state withholdings, you may be eligible for certain tax credits such as the the earned income tax credit. These are refundable credits, meaning the government will pay you money even if you had no taxes withheld. To learn more about your eligibility for such credits, contact E. Daniel Miller, CPA, PC: email tax@edanielmillercpa.com; call (888) 734-3933; or text (704) 565-9923.
